Arrival & departure

Check-in & check-out

๐Ÿ•“Check-in 4:00 PM ยท Check-out 10:00 AM. Early or late may be possible โ€” just ask.
๐Ÿ”‘Self check-in via lockbox. Your code (same for lockbox and garage) is texted about 48 hours before arrival.
Before you leave
๐Ÿฝ๏ธDishes: run the dishwasher or hand-wash. There's no garbage disposal โ€” food waste goes in the trash.
๐ŸงนClear the fridge & pantry, bag all trash to the outdoor cans, and roll the cans to the road โ€” pickup is Tuesday, so cans out by Monday night.
๐Ÿ›๏ธStrip the beds, pile the linens on each mattress, and start a load of towels or sheets before you go.
๐Ÿ”’Close & latch all windows and lock every door โ€” including the apartment's separate entrance.
The essentials

House rules

๐Ÿพ
Absolutely no dogs or other pets โ€” $500 fine. LegaSea is strictly pet-free for guests with allergies. Any evidence of a pet means a $500 fine plus the cost of extra cleaning or repairs.
๐ŸšญNo smoking anywhere inside the property.
๐ŸŽ‰No parties or events. Your group won't exceed your registered guests โ€” anything larger needs prior arrangement with us.
๐Ÿ”‡Quiet hours after 10:00 PM โ€” please be mindful of our neighbors. Sort trash using the labeled bins.
๐Ÿ’ณDamage: you're responsible for any damage beyond normal wear โ€” including the $500 pet fine โ€” and agree to pay for damages or fees you incur. If anything is damaged or not working, tell us right away โ€” โ€” and we'll take care of it.
Keeping the home happy

Caring for the house

๐Ÿ›—Elevator: both doors โ€” the handle door and the accordion door โ€” must be fully closed in both the house and the garage for it to run. Press the call button, wait for the red light before riding, and close the door after each use.
โš ๏ธRide with a cell phone and don't let children ride alone. If it ever sticks, the emergency release button is up high between the accordion and main doors.
๐Ÿš—Garage: the button on the post opens and closes the door from inside the garage.
๐ŸšฟOutdoor shower: rinse the sand off before coming inside โ€” it protects the home's plumbing from sand buildup.
๐Ÿ’จApartment dehumidifier: leave it running your whole stay โ€” it keeps the space comfortable and protects against moisture.
If you'll use it

The golf cart ๐Ÿ›บ

The cart is a real vehicle on real roads โ€” please read this part closely. Anyone who drives it is added as an authorized driver (21+ with a valid license) on the guest agreement we send before your stay.

Operation & liability
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธYou're responsible for the cart. Drive it safely and return it as you found it (normal wear aside). While it's in your care you're liable for any loss, damage, or injury to people or property โ€” regardless of fault โ€” including deductibles and uninsured costs, and you agree to hold the owners harmless for claims arising from its use.
๐Ÿ”Look it over before you drive and flag any concerns first. Tell us right away if you or a guest causes damage โ€” if it breaks down through no fault of yours, we'll repair or replace it.
Charging the cart
๐Ÿ”‹Keep it charged. The cart is electric โ€” plug it in whenever it's not in use (a full charge takes up to 8 hours). A $100 fee applies if it dies from not being charged.
โš ๏ธCharge with the garage door open. The batteries give off hydrogen gas while charging, so doing it in a closed space is a fire hazard. Never leave it charging unattended.
๐ŸŒง๏ธNever drive in rain or standing water โ€” that's an operating error, and water damage carries a $200 fee.
Rules of the road
๐ŸšฆNC vehicle laws apply. Drive only on roads posted 35 mph or below, follow all NC, Brunswick County, and Town of Oak Island rules, and never cross the bridge off the island or drive on sidewalks or the beach.
๐ŸšซNever drive impaired. No driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and no open containers on the cart.
๐ŸชชListed, licensed drivers only โ€” and never more riders than there are seat belts.
Parking & fees
๐Ÿ…ฟ๏ธ
Beach parking: Town of Oak Island resident spaces ONLY. The cart is registered as an Oak Island resident vehicle, so it may use resident spots โ€” but park it anywhere else and you risk a ticket. Any parking tickets or violations are your responsibility.
๐ŸšญNo smoking on the cart.
๐Ÿ’ณYou agree to pay any fees you incur under this agreement.

Before your stay

When you book, we'll email you the guest agreement to sign about a week before arrival. That's where you'll confirm you've read these rules, add any golf cart drivers, and unlock your WiFi and arrival details. Questions any time? Call or text .
